HLB Holds 40th Annual General Meeting

· Company reaffirms commitment to FDA approval for liver cancer drug

On March 31, HLB held its 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Daejeon Convention Center, followed by an investor relations (IR) briefing and a shareholder meeting. During the AGM, Chairman Jin Yang-gon reaffirmed the company’s commitment to securing U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its liver cancer drug. He emphasized ongoing collaboration with Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals to meet the FDA's additional requirements and resubmit the application promptly. The AGM approved all four agenda items, including financial statements and director appointments, though the resolution on executive severance pay regulations was deferred until the new drug receives approval.

At the corporate briefing, Jang Jin-woo, Vice President of IR, provided updates on the company’s business, highlighting upcoming announcements from HLB, HLB Therapeutics, and HLB Innovation that could enhance corporate value. Chief Technology Officer Han Yong-hae introduced ‘Rilapugratinib,’ an FGFR2 inhibitor designated as a breakthrough therapy by the FDA, with plans for approval as a second-line treatment for bile duct cancer by year-end. The shareholder meeting, led by Chairman Jin, lasted about 90 minutes, addressing investor concerns about FDA resubmission and future plans. CEO Baek Yun-ki expressed gratitude to shareholders, assuring them of continued progress leading up to next year’s AGM.
