POSCO has established a company-wide "One Team" operating system integrating R&D, production, and sales across eight core strategic steel products to secure future growth through high-value solutions.
The company recently formed four additional project teams focused on stainless steel (STS), renewable energy PosMAC, high-manganese steel, and electric furnace premium steel, following four earlier teams dedicated to energy thick plates, power-generation electrical steel, GigaSteel, and Hyper NO non-oriented electrical steel. All eight task forces now operate directly under the Pohang and Gwangyang steelworks to accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes. Pohang will concentrate on energy steel for oil, gas, power generation, and renewables, while Gwangyang will target advanced automotive and low-carbon steel markets. Amid rising tariffs in key markets such as the United States and policy shifts including the proposed K-Steel Act, POSCO aims to align with national industrial strategies, expand its strategic product portfolio through cross-functional collaboration, and reinforce its leadership in future industrial sectors under the vision of Chairman Chang In-hwa.
