POSCO Air Solution Becomes Asia’s First Rare Gas Producer to Earn AS9100D Certification

POSCO Air Solution, the industrial gas subsidiary of POSCO Group, has become the first rare gas manufacturer in Asia to obtain the AS9100D aerospace and defense quality management certification, the company announced on Aug. 6. The certification supports the company's expansion into the aerospace and defense sectors by strengthening its supply of high-purity xenon and krypton for satellite electric propulsion systems and space launch vehicles.

The company recently completed a high-purity rare gas production facility with an annual capacity of 130,000 Nm³, establishing South Korea’s first fully integrated rare gas value chain. Its xenon and krypton have also demonstrated performance comparable to imported products in tests conducted by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), reinforcing its competitiveness in next-generation aerospace and space technologies.
