Wemade Presses China’s Kingnet Over Unpaid Royalties
Wemade held a recent briefing to spotlight its ongoing royalty dispute with Chinese game company Kingnet, calling for swift enforcement of a Chinese court ruling. The company accused Kingnet of concealing assets to avoid rightful royalty payments, despite clear decisions by both the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Chinese courts. Wemade warned that such actions are criminal under Chinese law and emphasized that repeated harm to Korean content companies must stop.
The company also addressed related legal proceedings with Shanda Games and Actoz Soft, reaffirming its cooperation with Actoz Soft based on exclusive licensing for Legend of Mir 2 and 3. Wemade concluded by calling for stronger government-level support to protect Korean IP and ensure fair business practices in China.
